Today Michael looks at the topic of demonic possession through the story of Jesus and the man called “Legion.” Jesus’ purpose in pursuing this man was to free him of the oppression he was under. The characteristics shown by this man are the same ones shown by those influenced by demons today. While a Christian cannot be demon possessed, Michael challenges listeners to be very aware of the oppression which they still can have. How do we handle difficulties and hardships that come to our lives? In today’s message, Michael will teach the parable of the sower and the different adversities encountered for the seed to not grow, nor bear fruits: the attacks from Satan, the challenges of this life, and the cares of this world. Michael will highlight the importance of us truly listening to the words of Jesus – not simply hearing, because hearing alone will not save anybody. If we deeply absorb His Words, we can not only face our challenges, but also bear fruit for His Glory!

A lot of people hear Jesus’ words, but don’t actually absorb them – not with their minds, nor with their hearts. Today, Michael will be teaching on the parable of the sower, and we will learn that it is not only about the Word of God going forth, but it is also about how much we listen to the words of Jesus. Michael will explain that there is a direct correlation between the listening and the bearing of fruit – between how much we truly absorb the teachings of Jesus and the fruit that is produced in our lives.

Our past does not have to affect our future. Yet, we see so many people allowing their past to invade their present, which causes them to get stuck. Michael will teach today about people in the Bible that were set free and completely changed the journey of their lives from that point forward, like Mary Magdalene. She was set free from 7 demons, and from the journey of immorality and demonic influences that she was on. She went from lost sinner to joining Jesus’ entourage and the ground swell movement of God!

Why do people today shy away from God and the truth of love and forgiveness that come with Him? Even we as Christians don’t always allow a full relationship to develop with Jesus. Michael shares with us today how Jesus was a friend to everyone, and still can be today. But so many of us miss out on the abundant life this brings. The problem isn’t Jesus – He has made Himself available to all at any moment. Instead, the problem very well may lie in our own unwillingness to accept Him fully!

Jesus is and always will be a puzzling historical figure. His ability to forgive sins, heal illnesses, and even bring people back to life had many then, and many now, questioning the authority by which He operated. Michael steps into the controversy by reminding us today that Jesus wasn’t just a good man going around being kind to people. Jesus was the Son of God, and by that authority, He could walk among the people of the world, and give them something no one else could – eternal life!

The Bible is so much more than just a compilation of ancient stories and wise words. It is God’s message to everyone, everywhere, for every era! Jesus Himself quoted Scripture to make several points during His ministry, and leaned on those words when He was in the darkest hours of His life. Michael encourages us in today’s message to take the time to read the words God inspired people to write, and to use this resource as a compass for our lives. We won’t be disappointed!

The Israelites had been told for generations that a Savior would be coming to rescue them, to bring them a new and better life. As their physical situation grew more and more difficult, they started to view this savior as someone who would simply deliver them from their current predicaments, and so many sadly missed the eternal benefits of knowing Jesus. Michael warns us today that, even with the Israelites as an example, we too can be blind to our true need for a Savior, for someone to give us new, eternal life.

God loves when His children come to Him in an act of humility, but what does that humility actually look like? In today’s message, Michael wants us to look at being humble not as a put down for how worthless we are, but more as an acknowledgement of our unworthiness of Jesus’s sacrifice. That knowledge can compel us to turn to Jesus, and accept His gift of a life filled with hope and love and grace! We can then spread that gift around; everyone should have a chance to go from worthless to worthy!

Today’s message is intended to renew hope, Jesus wouldn’t have come to save us if He didn’t think we were worth something! Hold on to the fact that as you face the discouragements of the world!

But Michael suggests in today’s message that this renovation idea goes deeper than we think – we need to have a spiritual renovation! Christianity is an abnormal way of living by the world’s standards, and thinking and living by its guidelines seems incomprehensible.
