Today, as Michael continues his teaching series, he’ll be exhorting us to live out our faith first and foremost in our homes. If you desire to serve the Lord in any capacity, first make sure you are living a godly life within your home and treating your family in a way that honors the Lord. If you struggle to show submission, or if you recoil at the idea of having unconditional love, then your disqualified from serving in any other form of ministry until you repent in those areas.

All throughout the New Testament we read how Jesus and His disciples were continuously in prayer, in fellowship, and speaking forth the Word of God. Today, Michael will be challenging us to not only fellowship with other believers, and not only to read the Bible and go to Church, but to preach the gospel to the lost. This is one of the pillars of our faith that we sometimes neglect. We are still here on this Earth so that we could be a light to the world, and preach the good news!

Today, Michael will remind us that Jesus laid down His life so that we could all be reconciled to God by His sacrifice. No one forced Jesus to die for our sins. It wasn’t the Romans, it wasn’t the Jews, and it wasn’t Judas or the devil, Jesus Himself laid down His own life because of His great love for us. If blame is to be cast upon a certain group for the Lord’s death, it really boils down to to the sin of every human as to why He suffered and died. It was your sin and my sin that Jesus died for!

Scripture says a couple times that Jesus WEPT, and one of them was when He entered Jerusalem, days before His crucifixion. This expression of His emotion was a glimpse of His heart. People rejected Him. The religious leaders were so focused on the Law, that the fulfillment of the Law was right before their eyes, but they couldn’t see it. They were taken by the rituals and routines. Michael will go through Jesus’ experience in that last week of His life and what His sacrifice meant in that context in Jerusalem.

When Jesus arrived in Jerusalem, just days before His death, He was teaching, and people were hanging on His every words. However, others were seeking to destroy Him. The entire Old Testament points to Jesus, but the religious leaders were blinded to see that the Messiah was right before their eyes! Michael will teach that Jesus, full of humility, continued to walk in truth. He knew that the system was broken, and that He was the answer to that broken system. So when He saw Jerusalem, He WEPT.

What we believe about the identity of Jesus is the most important decision of our life, because everything we do will be based on that decision. Michael will teach about when the Pharisees were grumbling and agitated because Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem. They knew what that meant. He was declaring His kingship! “Who does He think He is??” – they wondered. Was Jesus a liar? A lunatic? A good teacher? Or really The Lord?! Do we trust Jesus with areas of our life that really reflect that He IS Lord?

Who was Jesus? Was He just a “moral teacher”, a Rabbi, and a liar? Today Michael will teach about an event in the Bible that causes a contradiction as to whether Jesus was really only a Rabi, like some thought. The Pharisees were upset at Jesus’ actions. A person is either a disciple or an anti-disciple. You are either following Him passionately or you are passionately against Him. This passage alone will prove that Jesus wasn’t simply a good teacher, nor was He a lunatic! He was – and He is – The LORD!
